Vanilla Minecraft is a quiet place. The grass is one shade of green, caves echo the same as open fields, and snow settles in a perfectly flat layer wherever it falls. None of that is broken. It’s just flat, and once you notice it, you can’t stop noticing it.
The three mods below have been around for well over a decade, and they’ve all grown into something closer to a full modpack than a single addition. Each one gives you a new dimension, and then fills it with its own blocks, its own creatures, its own tools and armor, and its own progression to work through.
Vanilla Minecraft gives you a good box of blocks and then leaves you to it. That’s fine until you want a kitchen that isn’t three barrels in a row. At that point the limits start showing.
